It appears to have been completely refurbished (both inside and out), and from the brief glimpse I managed to get, it also appears to be riding on a pair of powered trucks.

Unfortunately, I didn't have time to stop and ask anyone what SRR plans to do with her, but the thought struck me of having old #10 pay the Oxford Region a 'home-coming' visit, perhaps to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the railroad coming to the region!

In addition, I do not believe we would be able to have #10 make an appearance under her own power, nor do I think it would be possible to pull her DIT, since, at least at first glance, there might be some AAR interchange rules compliance issues (forgot to notice if the wheel sets had been modernized with roller bearings, or if they still retained the packed journals; also, #10 is still equipped with antiquated hook-and-loop couplers at each end).

I plan to revisit the SRR either tomorrow or Friday, depending on the weather, so I may get some answers... at the very least I'll get a few dozen photos to add to the site!

We would like to hear your views and suggestions. Please feel free to leave your comments, ask a question, or offer advice.

Please be advised that the same rules of conduct apply to every topic category; these rules may be found in the General Discussion category's "Welcome - Please Read" comments.

Thank you for taking your time to become involed in your community and region, and thank you for your interest in OATS!
